The Otago Medical School invites you home to celebrate 150 years of medical teaching, clinical training, research and innovation across the three Otago University campuses–Ōtepoti/Dunedin, Ōtautahi/Christchurch and Pōneke/Wellington.
Join us in Dunedin on King's Birthday Weekend 2025 (29 May to 1 June) and enjoy a range of events including academic sessions and tours of the current facilities.
During the weekend we'll spotlight the incredible firsts achieved during our illustrious 150 year history and work together to determine what the future of healthcare in Aotearoa will look like. It will also provide the perfect opportunity for classes to reunite and for us to remember what we got up to as students.
Our theme Ko tōku kainga waewae | My place of standing is inspired by the concept of homecoming and of reconnecting with a place of great personal meaning and significance.
The Otago Medical School has been a place of standing for all of us. It has enabled unique opportunities for learning and personal growth, and become the point from which we have launched our research and clinical careers.
This was our first stamping ground. Our home away from home. Now we come back to celebrate both our personal and collective journeys onward from this place.
This event is hosted by the Te Kura Hauora o Ōtākou / Otago Medical School.
