Kia ora

We are excited to announce the upcoming Science-based Policy School for Climate Change 2023 - Navigating a path forward | Mā mia ka kite a muri, mā muri ka ora a mua.

This event is set to be a thought-provoking day. Experts across science and policy from different fields will come together to discuss how they can address climate change issues and policies based on scientific evidence, collaborate, and work towards New Zealand’s low carbon goal.

This hui will provide attendees with a unique opportunity to connect. Whether you are a policymaker or a researcher, this event promises to be informative and engaging. With ample opportunities for networking, this event could lead to new collaborations, friendships, and partnerships that could potentially lead to further policy development.

The Policy School will begin with an opening address from the Minister of Climate Change, James Shaw, followed by three sessions that will feature moderated panel discussions to maximise the opportunity for questions and debate.

At the end of the hui, the European Union Ambassador, Nina Obermaier, will give an afternoon plenary to bring a European view on climate change policy.

We believe that bringing together individuals from different backgrounds is crucial in creating effective solutions. We're excited about all the possibilities that come with connecting science and policy, and we're confident that this conference will provide an incredible platform for discussions, debates, and collaborations.
