This presentation will explore the critical role of Māori health providers in advancing health equity within the community context. Drawing on indigenous knowledge and community values, we will highlight how culturally responsive practices, holistic approaches to health, and community engagement foster better health outcomes for Māori communities. We will examine case studies showcasing successful initiatives that prioritise accessibility, cultural safety, and the incorporation of traditional healing practices. By emphasising the importance of Māori-led solutions and the integration of community voice in health policy, this presentation aims to demonstrate the effectiveness of grassroots approaches in overcoming systemic barriers and promoting health equity for Māori communities.
