For tour and events that require booking, this option will be available on the registration page. 

A limited shuttle service will be available between venues that are a further distance away such as the Hocken Library and Te Rangihīroa College.

DIY Tour

Self-guided walking tour of the University and OMS. A campus map and information sheet will be provided in your welcome pack. No booking necessary! You can check out the developments and evolution of the greater University campus. You might find yourself saying "It wasn't like this in my day..." but some places like the Clocktower definitely haven't changed.

Te Rangihīroa College

Guided tour of the latest purpose-built University residential college - Te Rangihīroa - named for our first Māori medical graduate. Te Rangihīroa (also known as Sir Peter Buck) was the first medical graduate to be awarded an honorary degree. The tour will run for 15-20 minutes. Bookings will be essential as the tour group size is a maximum of 15. We hope to have two groups running at 2pm, 2:30pm, 3:30pm and 4pm but are waiting on confirmation on this. Hocken Library Tour

Take a guided tour through the Hocken Library's holdings. Bookings essential, maximum 45 per session. See behind the scenes of the most remarkable collection. otago.ac.nz/library/hocken

Anatomy and Physiology teaching facilities

Take a trip down memory lane with a guided tour of the Anatomy and Physiology teaching facilities. Bookings are essential - maximum group numbers of 60-70 per session. Revisit some of your old haunts, the labs and Anatomy Museum - does your memory serve you well? 

Documentary - Donated to Science

Watch a screening of Dr Paul Trotman's documentary Donated to Science. This will be showing in the Colquhoun Lecture Theatre at Dunedin Hospital, no booking necessary. Times will be indicated in your programme. This award-winning film follows a group of medical students and their relationship with the cadavers they dissect. Throughout the film we follow a group of people who are planning to donate their bodies to the University of Otago Medical School for students to dissect. otago.ac.nz/anatomy/bequests

Art Tour

Take a self-guided tour of some of the Dunedin Hospital art collection. A map and information sheet will be provided, no booking necessary.

History Tour

Take a self-guided tour of the Otago Medical School Alumni Association (OMSAA) collection displays throughout Dunedin Hospital. A map and information sheet will be provided, no bookings necessary.

Sayers Building Tour

The medical library will feature a display of books written either by alumni - or about alumni - and their medical careers. This will not be a display of textbooks written by alumni! The University Bookshop will also have current autobiographies and biographies available for sale. In the Roberton Office Suite there will be memorabilia displayed in the Dean's Office and the Sayers Boardroom.
