What is the theme of the conference?

The theme for the conference is Te Herenga Tangata: Connected, and we are looking for content that connects our participants with any aspect of our environments, culture, or roles. You may want to connect us with your team, your roles, your stakeholders, or your impact on the world.

Should I consider copyright concerns about material included in my presentation or workshop?

You always need to think about copyright! If you’re a professional staff member the University, as your employer, owns the copyright of things you make as part of your job. As for using things made by others, it can be complex but follow these guidelines:

Attribute everything. Every image or graph or piece of text should have a note about what it is, who made it and where it came from.
If you’re including something to critique in some way (e.g. you’re showing a graph showing research findings about your topic) then you don’t generally need permission.
If you’re using things purely for decoration or amusement then search for free image sites and get them from there (e.g., Unsplash, Pixabay and many others let you use pictures for free).

Will someone be in the presentation/workshop with me to help manage questions/help with any technical issues that arise?

Yes. There will be at least one support person in the session with you to help.

Where will I conduct the presentation from? i.e., my own office (or home) some other dedicated space?

If you have a good set-up and a solid internet connection you can be anywhere. That said, if you need some space we can arrange a spot for you.

Is there any equipment available if I don't have a good camera or sound?

There isn’t equipment available but we can find you a location to sit with good quality equipment.
