Sebastian Gehricke

Sebastian joined the University of Otago as a Lecturer in 2018 after finishing his PhD there. He has produced several research publications in the area of derivatives and is now very active in researching climate finance and sustainable investing. He is now a co-director of the CEFGroup and member of the One Planet Sovereign Wealth Fund Research Group.

Robin Gauld - Dean of the Otago Business School

Robin Gauld

Robin Gauld is the Director of the Centre for Health Systems that spans the Otago Medical and Business schools. Robin is a Senior Fellow at the Boston University Health Policy Institute, and was a Commonwealth Fund Harkness Fellow in 2008–2009 working with colleagues from Boston University and Harvard University. Past positions include lecturing and research posts at the University of Hong Kong and City University of Hong Kong. He has also taught at the University of Texas and Harvard University.

Current research interests include comparative health policy, health system and quality improvement, clinical governance, primary care, population based health funding formulas, and health information technology. Robin has authored over 85 peer-reviewed journal articles and several books and chapters. His book The New Health Policy (Open University Press, 2009) was awarded First Prize in the Health and Social Care category at the 2010 British Medical Association Medical Book Awards. Other recent books include Revolving Doors: New Zealand’s Health Reforms - the Continuing Saga (Institute of Policy Studies and Health Services Research Centre, 2009), The Age of Supported Independence co-authored with Beatrice Hale and Patrick Barrett (Springer, 2010), Health Care Systems in Asia and Europe co-edited with Christian Aspalter and Uchida Yasuo (Routledge, 2011), and Democratic Governance in Health co-authored with Miriam Laugesen (Otago University Press, 2012).Robin has a PhD in public administration from the University of Hong Kong, and a master's degree with distinction and first class honours degree from Victoria University of Wellington.

Conor Roberts, Communications Strategist, NZ Super Fund

Conor Roberts

Conor is a Senior Communications Strategist in the Corporate Affairs team for the Guardians of NZ Superannuation. He handles communications and media for the Fund and manages relationships with key external stakeholders including government, business and community groups. Conor has worked in both public and private sector communications roles including for MYOB, Spark NZ, Todd Property Group and Auckland Council. He is part of the organising committee for the Association of Investment Chairs event.

Craig Stobo, Taumata, Otago Business School; Associate Member CFA Society NZ; CFInstD

Educated at the University of Otago and Wharton Business School, Craig Stobo has worked as a diplomat, economist, investment banker, and as CEO. He has authored reports for the Government on “The Taxation of Investment Income”, chaired the Government’s International Financial Services Development group in 2010, and chaired the Establishment Board of the Local Government Funding Agency in 2011. Craig is a professional director and entrepreneur.

In addition to chairing Precinct Properties, he is chairman of the New Zealand Local Government Funding Agency (LGFA) and director of AIG Insurance New Zealand Limited and a number of private companies including Saturn Portfolio Management, Elevation Capital Management and Biomarine Limited.
